Tiffany Cromwell and Connor Swift stormed to impressive solo victories in the respective women’s and men’s race at the UK’s first ever TREK UCI Gravel World Series on Saturday.

The Gralloch might not be the most natural environment for a time trialist but for road professional Alex Dowsett will be one of more than 1,000 on the Gatehouse of Fleet start line.

‍Cameron Mason has made a name for himself over recent seasons, with the last year the standout for the 22 year-old Scotsman. Of his 12 UCI Cyclocross races last winter the Trinity Racing rider took nine top 10s, won the British national title and, most notably finished ninth in the Elite World Championships.

Isla Short raced a bit of cyclocross years back but just two road races - one of which was the 2018 Commonwealth Games no less - but is a big deal in the Scottish MTB world. She’s won a number of international UCI races, is a former British XCO title and even has a World Championships top 10 to her name.

As a TREK UCI Gravel World Series event, The Gralloch attracts some of the world’s best riders, and the first professional signed up was Nathan Haas.

Australian Tiffany Cromwell has been on the professional road scene for more than 10 years, riding with the Canyon//SRAM squad since its creation in 2016.
