A week in Galloway: what’s taking shape for May
Earlier this month, we were back in Galloway for one of the most important trips of the year.
Not a launch. Not an announcement. The kind of week where the real work happens.
Time on the ground. On the routes. With partners. Testing, refining, and shaping what this year’s event will become.
Because this is the point where ideas turn into something tangible.
And after a full week in Gatehouse of Fleet, it’s safe to say a lot is taking shape.
Here’s a glimpse of what’s been happening and what’s coming next.

Some things are getting bigger
We teamed up with Red Bull for a major content shoot, and it’s safe to say… things are about to get even more exciting.
We’ve been working closely together to bring new energy and fresh ideas into the event weekend. While we’re not revealing everything just yet, what we can say is this:
- New additions are coming to both the UCI race, Ultra and Sportive routes
- Expect more immersive, high-impact moments out on course
- And yes… Fuffock Hill is getting taken to the next level
If you thought it was iconic before, just wait.
Full details are coming soon, and this is one you’ll want to keep an eye on.
The Ultra route is nearly ready
Out on the trails, we’ve also been deep into final route checks for The Gralloch Ultra.
Every kilometre has been carefully tested, refined and re-tested. It’s a route that needs to do more than challenge, it needs to tell a story, to take riders somewhere memorable.
We’re nearly there.
The full reveal is just around the corner, and we’re confident this will be a rewarding and unforgettable Ultra route. Expect wild stretches, relentless terrain, and moments that stay with you long after the finish.
A new partner joins the journey
We also completed a special content shoot with a new partner who shares our vision for quality, performance and experience.
We’re keeping the name under wraps for now, but this is a collaboration we’re genuinely excited about. It’s another step forward in elevating the overall event experience, both on and off the bike.
More on that very soon.

Fuel, insight and preparation
No great ride happens without the right preparation.
That’s why we spent time out on the routes with our friends at OGT, alongside their outstanding ambassadors Matt Holmes and Lizzie Hermolle.
Together, we rode key sections, talked through the demands of the course, and captured a series of practical, honest insights to help you get the most from your weekend.
From nutrition strategies to route understanding, this is content built for riders who want to arrive ready.
Whether you’re chasing qualification, taking on the Ultra, or simply looking to enjoy every kilometre of the Sportive, there’ll be something in there for you.
The road to May
Weeks like this are a reminder that The Gralloch is more than just a race.
It’s a carefully crafted weekend. A meeting point for the gravel community. A stage where elite competition and personal challenge sit side by side.
And right now, it’s all building.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more route reveals, partner announcements, rider guidance and a few surprises along the way.
So keep an eye out.
Because come 15–17 May, it all comes together in Galloway. And it’s shaping up to be our biggest year yet.
